Jim Bologna, MBA, TLIS, Senior Director of Innovation and Technology, Global Online Academy Site Director, and Computer Science teacher for the Windward School in Los Angeles. Jim co-founded the Center for Teaching and Learning in 2005 and has served as the co-chair of the Science and Technology department, the Dean of Science and Technology Outreach, and the co-chair of the Windward Institute. Jim has led a summer institute on active learning in science, organized multiple annual Design and Making Classroom Colloquium, hosted a symposium on virtual reality in education, and is the co-host for AI&K12 (a conference on artificial intelligence in K12). He has worked on initiatives for 1:1 programs, SIS and LMS implementations, cybersecurity, AI, and risk management reviews, and leads the desiign and rennovation for innovation learning spaces on campus. Jim is the technology and sustainability advisor for campus construction projects and is the primary contact for Windward School’s certification in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Schools program.
Jim is a certified Technology Leader in Independent Schools (TLIS), and has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the Association of Technology Leaders in Independent Schools. He is an active member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the International Society for Technology in Education, the Computer Using Educators of LA, the Independent Technology professionals in Los Angeles, and various maker and STEM groups.
